CULTIVATION: You might not have the same kind of happiness as before, but what you...
You might not have the same kind of happiness as before, but what you have now can be great, maybe even better, so long as you keep your arms open to change. Everything you see may remind you of the things you miss. People might say something, praise what they have, without knowing how it affects you. Friends might say the classic “you’re not alone,” to reassure you in a way that really might get you nowhere. Truth is, in a time like this, there’s no better person to believe in you than yourself. Let solitude break you, shatter you, destroy you, until the skin on your body can no longer be punctured. Avoid ignorance. Exercise patience. When better things make their way into your life, cherish them unconditionally.
